Frequently Asked Questions
GENERAL QUESTIONS
Unfortunately, our glasses do not come with prescription as our lens technology is significantly more complex than standard lenses. That being said, we have had many test users say they will be switching to contact lenses because they found the utility of our technology so great.
The majority of hairstyles will work perfectly along with HindSight glasses. If your hair doesn’t go further than a 1/2 inch from your ear, then you can use them! If your hair is particularly perky, combine with a helmet and use the straps to flatten it out and HindSight glasses will work for you too.
Our glasses are currently only available in one size.

Being road aware is fundamental to being safe while cycling, and at HindSight, our goal is to make our users as conscious of potential dangers as possible. HindSight glasses empower cyclists to know more about the road, allowing you to make smarter decisions.
Short answer - no. The mirrors in HindSight glasses are mostly transparent, allowing users to choose where their focus is – either on what’s on the road ahead, or what’s behind. The mirrors don’t cover any of the main visual field when looking straight ahead as they exist in your peripheral vision, allowing you to make the decision on when to look back.
All the models we are selling have the rear view mirror technology on both sides and can be used for cycling.
There are some situations in which the HindSight glasses may be less effective than they usually are – namely at dawn and dusk, if the sun is directly behind you.HindSight glasses are designed not to show what is exactly behind the user, but instead what is behind them and to the side. This allows users to slightly turn their head to check what is to their rear. The vast majority of journeys will not be in a straight line, and as such users typically have no issues in tilting their heads slightly to avoid a bright rear light source from irritating them.
Our glasses come with a Category 3 darkness lens which is ideal for most sunglasses conditions. They have UV 400 protection and they provide nearly 100% protection from harmful ultraviolet light rays, blocking wavelengths up to 400 nanometers, including UVA and UVB rays.
The glasses are designed to be standalone, so they won't work in conjunction with existing glasses. We also unfortunately cannot offer prescription at the moment due to the complexity of our lens technology. That said, we have had several test users "convert" to contact lenses because they found the utility of our glasses so great.
1. While holding the frame, apply pressure to the lens until it pops out
2. Store removed lenses in sunglasses pouch
3. Push new lenses into frame, while aligning the raised bumps on the lens with the grooves in the frame
4. Ensure mirror bend lines are parallel - use a finger and thumb to rotate the lenses if necessary
5. Gently wiggle the frames at the nose bridge to ensure the lens bumps are in the correct grooves
6. Test - if the mirror appears blurred, the bumps are not in the groove, adjust as necessary.
We are looking into polarized lenses. Unfortunately we can’t offer them right now, but as soon as we get some more information from our lens team we will post an update - so watch this space!
